Our Mission
At Philanthrokids, we unleash the power of art to fuel imagination and self-expression. Guided by our caring instructors, your child will explore various mediums like painting, building, and crafts, unlocking their creative potential and fostering pride in their unique creations.
But that's not all – our camp is not just about creating art; it's about nurturing kindness and empathy and supporting our community. We incorporate a strong focus on fostering a caring and compassionate mindset. Your child will discover the joy of kindness and the positive impact it can have on the world around them.
Our Pillars

Self-Expression
We celebrate the unique talents and creativity of each child. We provide guidance and encouragement, fostering a sense of pride and accomplishment in each child's creative journey.

Kindness
We prioritize teaching empathy, compassion, and respect for others. We believe that fostering kindness creates a positive and inclusive environment where every child feels valued and supported.

Safety
The safety and well-being of our campers are paramount. We implement rigorous safety measures and protocols. With a low camper-to-staff ratio, we provide individualized attention, ensuring that each child feels comfortable, supported, and supervised throughout their camp experience.

By focusing on these pillars, we create a camp environment where children can thrive creatively, build meaningful connections, and develop essential life skills.
Join us at Philanthrokids, where every child will be encouraged to express themselves, practice kindness, and forge lasting memories in a safe and nurturing setting.
Actions speak louder than words

At Philanthrokids, we believe in the power of community and understand the significant impact that local businesses have on the economy, culture, and overall well-being of our area. That's why we actively prioritize partnering with and patronizing local businesses whenever possible.

We are proud to give back by donating a portion of our proceeds to Kindcraft, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing craft kits to the Alberta Children's Hospital. We aim to bring joy and creativity to young patients, supporting their healing process. Your participation in our camp directly contributes to this meaningful cause and makes a positive impact on the lives of children.
Meet our creative team
Emily Mathers & Marianne Suarez Sabugo
Hi, I am Emily!
I am a mother to three beautifully chaotic children (and two cats!)
I have worked as a Registered Nurse in Calgary for the past decade. I run the non-profit organization @kindcraftsab which donates craft kits to the Alberta Children’s Hospital. As well, I enjoy volunteering at Inn from the Cold helping facilitate birthday parties!
I love to make – in all mediums, but probably shine brightest with fiber & papercraft.
I am passionate about raising imaginative and kind children, Women’s health & disability advocacy.
I believe the process of making teaches us so much about ourselves and helps us grow and heal in new and surprising ways.
Hey! I'm Marianne!
I am the mom of two amazing children, Tessa and Léo and I am the owner of Joy in Colours. With a background in event planning, I bring my organizational skills and attention to detail to every project.
Originally from France, I moved to Calgary ten years ago. As the oldest of five siblings, I developed a strong sense of responsibility and care for children. I obtained a Youth Worker Diploma in France (BAFA), driven by my passion for supporting and empowering youth.
Now that I am a mom and a business owner, I get to combine my love for creativity and children and it makes me very happy! By creating personalized and themed crayons, I aim to bring joy and inspiration to every child's imagination.
